Snowshoeing is a great low impact aerobic activity. However there is more to snowshoeing than simply taking a plunge in some untracked snow. Come have some fun in the snow, meet some new people, and learn the ins and outs of the fastest growing winter sport at our Snowshoeing 101 class.
Details: 90 minute class with 30 minutes of instruction covering how to put on and take off your snowshoes, select the proper snowshoe, and dress for the outdoors in winter. Learn how to get up from a fall, select a comfortable stride for walking and stomping, and turning around. Class concludes with a guided tour.
Location: Nelson Lake. Location of hike is subject to change based on conditions. We will meet at Nelson Lake, not the store.
What to wear/bring: Moisture wicking base layer. Water repellent jacket and pants, or gaiters. Water proof boots preferred. Hat, gloves, and layer as needed for temperatures. Bottle of water. Dress for warmer than the temps. This is exercise!

We need a minimum of 3 participants and the cooperation of Mother Nature to hold the class. In the event Mother Nature does not cooperate or we fail to get the minimum amount of participants we will make a decision 24 hrs in advance. We will post on our website and Facebook and call all participants.
