“The Hannah Duston Story: The Indian ...
Description
An “Indian captivity narrative” is a story of a non-Native person’s capture by “uncivilized” Native Americans. This lecture will focus on the words used to tell Hannah Duston’s story, exploring the hidden motivations behind them, which played into people’s preconceived ideas and fears.
