Jul 7    Invest Aurora Designated Zone Organization Forum
On June 6, 2016, Invest Aurora was recognized by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) as a Designated Zone Organization (DZO). The City of Aurora is one of just five communities eligible for tax incentives and grant programs under the River Edge Redevelopment Zone Act. The Aurora River Zone is centered on the downtown, and along the Fox River. Invest Aurora is only the second organization ever to receive this designation. Operating as a DZO, Invest Aurora will augment programs and activities of the organization while at the same time addressing issues common to the zone area. As a DZO, Invest Aurora may solicit and receive cash or in-kind corporate contributions for approved projects. One key component of DZO projects submitted for redevelopment is community involvement in planning and implementation. We cordially invite you to participate in one of the three public forums in the coming weeks. These forums will provide an opportunity for Invest Aurora to explain the benefits of operating as a DZO, as well as ensure community goals are incorporated in future development projects.
