Sep 13 - Oct 29    Million Dollar Quartet
There was no plan for Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins to record together on December 4, 1956, but as fate would have it, they did and left behind a historic and mind-blowing album. Million Dollar Quartet tells that story, with all the raw energy and monumental talent you’ve come to expect from these music giants. It all begins in the Sun Record recording studio in Memphis, Tennessee. Up and comer Jerry Lee Lewis is recording songs with rockabilly king Carl Perkins when already iconic Elvis resley stops by the studio with his girlfriend. The not-quite-yet-a-guitar-god Johnny Cash is there to pay a visit to music manager Sam Phillips. Throw them all together and you have one of the most unexpected, unprecedented and unforgettable musical moments in history. It was the first and only time they played together and, through their musical genius, created an explosive album that has yet to be matched. Nominated for three Tony Awards, including Best Musical and a win for Best Supporting Actor, Million Dollar Quartet features some of the biggest and best songs of all time, including “Peace in the Valley,” “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” “I Walk the Line,” “Hound Dog” and “Great Balls of Fire.” This is the show that ran in Chicago from 2008 to 2016 and spanned more than 2,500 performances. Critics called it “the most exuberant theatrical event,” “dazzling from first beat to last” and “the best live rock ‘n’ roll show I have ever seen.” It is the third longest-running show in Chicago theatre history and the Paramount is about to do its production of it. Be there. Suggested Rating: PG Out of respect for our patrons, children ages 2 and under are not permitted in the theatre. Out of respect for the artists and in adherence to the union rules we are contractually obligated to enforce, all photography and video recordings of the stage, as well as of the production itself (including audio recording) are strictly prohibited. This policy will be enforced.

Sep 19    Aurora University Sales Institute Series
Sales people who experience the fear and feelings associated with rejection are usually missing one critical component to success. They know what they do, they know how they do it, but they don’t know why they do it—and it’s the “Why” that makes the sale. It’s the “Why” that inspires your prospects and clients to act, because neuroscience shows that people make decisions based on how they feel. Simply put, the confidence and purpose that comes from knowing your “Why” helps others to feel good about working with you. During this interactive class, we will talk about success blockers and how to improve your sales and relationships by developing your “Why.” You will also get a jump-start on identifying and connecting with your “Why” and the passion, confidence and success that comes along with it. Guest Speaker: Marla Tabaka, Business Coach and Small Business Strategist Marla Tabaka is an internationally known small business strategist and leading author at Inc. Magazine online. Her unique and integrative approach to entrepreneurial success combines mindset mastery and strategic planning, leading clients to clarity, happiness and seven-figure revenues. Marla was voted 2016’s Best of Naperville in the Business Coaching category and named in the 2017 Top 100 Coaches list in 7-Figure Coaching Magazine.

Sep 20    Main Stage: Henry Cisneros presents “American Latinos and the Nation’s Future”
Delbert and Barbara Arsenault Lectureship Short description Co-chair of the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Immigration Task Force, former Housing and Urban Development secretary, and housing innovator Henry Cisneros is a testament to American leadership, diversity and community building. Long description American Latinos are the nation’s fastest-growing segment of the population, the largest minority group, the youngest segment of the population, and the most rapidly increasing proportion of the middle class. The Latino trajectory of progress is vital to the nation’s future. The difference between Latinos as a marginalized population or Latinos as full contributors to the workforce and to economic prosperity will be a critical determinant of America’s competitiveness and social stability. It is essential to act now on strategies to fully integrate Latinos into the mainstream of American life. Co-chair of the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Immigration Task Force, former HUD secretary, and housing innovator Henry Cisneros is a testament to American leadership, diversity and community building. His vision of a strong, resilient society starts with fair housing and stretches beyond race and class. One of the first Hispanic Americans to run a major city, Cisneros came to national prominence when he was elected mayor of San Antonio in 1981. During his four terms, Cisneros rebuilt the city’s economy by increasing tourism, attracting high-technology firms and creating tens of thousands of jobs. The American Mayor named him one of the nation’s 15 best mayors of the 19th and 20th centuries.
