Mayor Thomas J. Weisner will present the State of the City to Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce guests on Thursday, May 1, at Piper?s Banquets, 1295 Butterfield Road, Aurora.
Mayor Weisner?s annual address includes highlights and accomplishments of the past year as well as his vision for the future of the City.
Mayor Weisner leads Aurora, Illinois, the state?s second largest city with a population of nearly 198,000. Boasting a diverse population, various housing choices and easy access to multiple transportation options, Aurora was recognized by Money Magazine in 2006 and 2008 as a top 100 city in which to live, work and play.
Mayor Weisner reorganized city government in order to make it more efficient and responsive to businesses and residents with greater emphasis on economic development and neighborhood quality of life.
