Description
Rich Harvest Farms Private Estate and Golf Course is thrilled to be welcoming the talent of the future! The Palmer Cup is an annual ten-man team golf competition between American college golfers and European college/university golfers and is played in a similar format to the Ryder Cup, arguably the premier team event in professional golf. The great Arnold Palmer himself created and gave his name to the event because of a desire to support college sport as well as it having natural links to his great Ryder Cup career.
"We are extremely excited to be hosting the 2015 Palmer Cup. This event is in tune with everything we do here from our Kids Golf Foundation, caddie program, and commitment to amateur golf, as well as being the home of the Northern Illinois University Huskies Men’s and Women’s Golf Teams," said Rich Harvest Farms owner and President Jerry Rich. "Arnold Palmer’s vision for bringing together the highly talented collegiate players with the young caddies and youth in the Junior Clinic is a true culmination of what is most important – growing the game. My team and I couldn’t be happier to be a part of this special event."
The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced in December of 2014 the coaches for both teams when they play Rich Harvest Farms. Former Ryder Cup player Jean Van de Velde and Georgia State Head Golf Coach Bruce Heppler will serve as the coaches of the European and United States Palmer Cup teams, respectively. Players will be announced April 2015.
Local collegiate golf fans are encouraged to attend this FREE event and witness the talent of these remarkable athletes. To stay updated on the latest event news, please visit www.richharvestfarms.com or www.palmercup.org.
