Description
The story of Luis Alberto Urrea is one of transformation: from his beginnings on a dirt street in Tijuana to Pulitzer Prize finalist and beloved storyteller. He uses these dual-culture life experiences in his writings to explore greater themes of love, loss and triumph. Urrea is a professor of creative writing at the University of Illinois-Chicago. Some of his books have been incorporated into courses at Aurora University, eliciting student discussion about borders, immigration and the search for belonging.
