Description
Nielsen, Fifth Third Bank, and The Chicago Urban League have teamed up to sponsor "Conscious Consumerism and The Business Case for B2B Supplier Diversity". Nielsen issued the very first comprehensive report on the African American consumer. This report offers insight on the impact a large consumer base may have on supplier diversity. Nielsen will present this report for the first time, en mass, in Chicago on Wednesday. While consumer leverage is readily acknowledged when it comes to suppliers of consumer goods, we will discuss how the African American consumer spend makes a clear case for supplier diversity for corporations who purchase goods and services from B2B companies.
Nielsen speaker, Maggie Anderson, is CEO of The Empowerment Experiment and The Empowerment Experiment Foundation. Anderson has become the leader of a self-help economics movement that brings together business owners, consumers, corporations, and professional groups to assure that more quality Minority-owned businesses get supported— as stand-alone entities and as suppliers, vendors, and franchises.
