Description
Leadership Academy 2012 enrollment is now open!
The Aurora-area's Leaders of tomorrow are being created today!
Leadership Academy provides the opportunity for participants to broaden their knowledge of the community while enhancing their leadership skills. The program brings diverse people together to learn from each other, creates an expectation of servant leadership, produces a basic understanding of how people and groups function, and builds in real opportunities to teach knowledge and skills.
The Leadership Challenge
One measure of a community’s strength is the voluntary contribution made by its leaders. The future of our community is closely tied to the quality and commitment of our next generation of leaders. Leadership Academy, a 12-session program beginning on September 12, 2012 initiated by the Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce, annually increases a base of informed and capable leaders who are committed to using their talents to meet the needs of our community.
The purpose of Leadership Academy is reflected in its goals:
- To develop awareness of the Aurora area – its strengths, challenges and opportunities
- To build a realistic understanding of leadership in today’s complex society
- To create a network of informed, concerned leaders
- To encourage greater involvement in the community
- To identify community leaders of diverse backgrounds
- To open a dialogue among emerging and current community leaders
- To acquaint leaders with the processes, programs, opportunities and challenges for individual involvement in the Aurora-North Aurora region
