Montgomery 5K and 10K River Run
Description
Montgomery 5K and 10K River Run is Set!
The Village of Montgomery will host its 11th annual 5k and 10K River Run on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 9 a.m. The Montgomery 5K and 10K River Run are USA Track and Field certified with computerized race results provided by Race Time, a premier race management service provider in northern Illinois. The race will start and finish at Village Hall (200 North River Street Montgomery, IL 60538). Race day registration begins at 7:30 a.m.
The race takes place on both sides of the scenic Fox River through beautiful landscaped parks and residential areas. Awards will be given to the first two male and first two female finishers in the age categories of: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, 71+, as well as overall male and overall female winners. All entrants that registered by August 31st will receive a River Run long sleeve dri-fit shirt and goodie bag. Awards will be presented immediately following the race, in the plaza at Village Hall.
This year Rondi S.E.L.F. Fitness will lead all participants in their pre-race warm-ups and stretches. There will also be several area vendors set-up prior to and after the race for participants and their families to visit. Chiro One Wellness Center, Nature Trail Runners, Physicians Immediate Care, It Works! and Wang Family Chiropractor just to name a few. Also, the famous Dick Pond Athletics’ Shoe Truck will be on-site!
Race day registration for the 5K is $30 for adults and $15 for children while the 10K is $45 for adults and $25 for children. Children under three are free for both races.
A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to the Montgomery VFW Post #7452.
