AURORA REGIONAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE REACCREDITED WITH 5-STARS BY THE U.S. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE FOR 4th CONSECUTIVE TIME
Aurora Regional Chamber is one of only seven 5-star accredited chambers in Illinois.

(AURORA, IL, December 5, 2022) – The Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce, the voice of and catalyst for business success in the Aurora region, is excited to announce that it has once again been awarded the prestigious 5-Star accreditation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for its sound policies, effective organizational procedures, and positive impact on the community. With fewer than 3% of Chambers across the United States achieving this elite status, the Aurora Regional Chamber has now achieved the highest level of accreditation for four consecutive cycles dating back to 2007.

“We’re ecstatic to receive 5-star reaccreditation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and to continue the long tradition of excellence that the business community expects from the Aurora Regional Chamber,” said Jessica Linder Gallo, IOM, President & CEO, Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce. “As one of only seven 5-star accredited chambers in Illinois, this high distinction gives our members confidence that the organization they’re investing in is well-run, strategic, forward thinking, and fiscally responsible.”

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Accreditation Program facilitates a program of excellence in the chamber industry and fosters a pro-business environment across America. To receive accreditation, every five years, a chamber must perform an extensive self-review that can take 6-9 months to complete. The chamber must meet a minimum standard of excellence in its operations, including across the following areas: governance, finance, human resources, government affairs, program development, technology, communications, facilities and benchmarking.

“Chambers of commerce that achieve an Accreditation designation are truly leaders in their industry,” said Raymond P. Towle, U.S. Chamber Vice President, Federation Relations and IOM. “This rigorous review includes all aspects of a chamber’s policies, operations, and programming. When chambers of commerce earn the distinction of becoming Accredited, it is a mark of excellence for the organization, its staff, and its leadership. Accredited chambers are recognized for their ability to serve as a resource to their region’s businesses while maintaining transparent governance practices, sound financial controls, safe work environments, effective communications, and value in programming. They are commended for their continued advocacy of free enterprise, and for their commitment to serving members and their local businesses. Congratulations on this tremendous accomplishment.”

Local chambers are rated by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as either Accredited, 3-Stars, 4-Stars, or 5-Stars with State chambers recognized as either Accredited State Chamber or Accredited State Chamber with Distinction. The final determination of accreditation is made by the Accrediting Board, a committee of U.S. Chamber board members.
