Historical Society's Wedding Dress Exhibit Extended to September 9
HISTORICAL SOCIETY WEDDING EXHIBIT EXTENDED BY POPULAR DEMAND The Aurora Historical Society’s exhibit, “Here Comes the Bride,” which was originally scheduled to close August 12, has been extended by popular demand four extra weeks, through Saturday, September 9. The exhibit features nearly thirty wedding dresses from the Historical Society’s collections, ranging from 1853 to 1976. The exhibit is at the David L. Pierce Art & History Center, 20 E. Jim Varney Chosen as New Trustee for Historical Society
Dr. Jim Varney, Ed.D., has been elected to the Board of Trustees of the Aurora Historical Society. Dr. Varney is a retired educator who spent nearly five decades working with students from preschool through master’s degree candidates. He served as principal at several Aurora schools and directed the Partnership School for 4th and 5th graders at Aurora University. Varney taught both undergraduate and graduate students at Aurora University and Waubonsee Community College. He holds degrees from Illinois
