Description
The interview can get you the job, but how do you get the interview? For that matter, how do you get the phone screen that leads to an interview? And how do you write an effective resume and cover letter that will help get that phone screen? It all comes down to . . . every step of the job search process . . . persuasive communications. Our focus will be on the importance of addressing the audience's needs in the job search “selling” process by crafting and delivering messages that make it clear that you bring strengths to the hiring company that will add real value. The presentation and handouts will highlight three key communications aspects of the job search: the 15-20 second "value statement;" developing targeted/effective messages for cover letters and interviews; and having the confidence to take control of the interview by anticipating and preparing to effectively deal with the "tough questions”. Presenter: Keith Owens
