AURORA, Ill. — The Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce honored Earthmover Credit Union (ECU) with the 2024 Mid-Size Business Excellence Award at its recent Third Annual Celebration of Business Excellence. The award recognizes a local business with 26 to 100 employees that demonstrates excellence, innovation and a positive contribution to the community. ECU is commemorated for several key projects including updated financial resources for local businesses, an upcoming merger with Peoples Energy Credit Union and a remodel of its locations.
“Winning the Aurora Business Excellence Award stands as proof of our unwavering dedication to the community, innovation and the members we serve,” ECU Director of Marketing Marisa Medgyesi said. “It’s a testament to the hard work our team puts in, driving us forward in our mission to provide financial wellness for all.”
The Third Annual Celebration of Business Excellence was held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 23 at Loft 28 West in Aurora. ECU Marketing Coordinator Alex Morales accepted the award on the organization’s behalf.
ECU is recognized for being an active part of the business community. Earlier this year, Earthmover launched an updated Employer Partner program called CORE, which offers free financial guidance and resources that encourage employees to thrive. Employer Partners have access to all Earthmover products and services, such as lower rates on loans, higher yields on savings and competitive certificates of deposit. CORE also provides financial workshops, events and coaching to benefit employees. Current Employer Partners include: Rush Copley, the Village of Montgomery, the City of Plano, the United City of Yorkville, Fox Valley United Way, Hesed House and more.
Earthmover’s business growth is further highlighted with its upcoming merger to Peoples Energy Credit Union. The merger will bring 1,900 additional members to ECU’s 29,000, that will operate under the Earthmover name. This partnership will be mutually beneficial to both parties, and ensure continued financial health for our collective membership. Additionally, ECU began a phased remodel of its branches, starting with the Yorkville and Aurora locations. The result will be a fresh look that modernizes the branches and improves usability. Earthmover is committed to serving the community through new and innovative ways.
“This recognition fills us with immense pride, reinforcing our belief in the importance of collaboration and serving our community,” said Medgyesi.
ECU is a not-for-profit full-service banking institution that has been serving its members for over 60 years. Membership is available to anyone living or working in one of the following counties: Kendall, Kane, DuPage, Will, LaSalle, DeKalb and Grundy. As a not-for-profit organization, Earthmover returns its earnings to its members through lower loan rates, higher savings rates, lower fees and more. ECU currently provides banking services to over 29,000 members at its six branch offices, located in Yorkville, Montgomery, Oswego, Aurora and North Aurora, as well as a student-run branch in the Oswego High School.
