POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for bringing Girl Scout programming to under-served girls who may be struggling academically and socially through the Project Opportunity community program in Aurora, DeKalb, Carpentersville and Elgin. There is pay and an Education Award (money for school) associated with the status of your position. AmeriCorps Members will facilitate programming based on the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) in weekly, up to 1 hour-long sessions. This programming will help girls develop a strong sense of self and improve academic attitudes through activities including life skills, S.T.E.M., career exploration, and healthy relationships.
